Congratulations to the winners of the Weatherstock Dance-A-Thon held last Friday! First round went to Shinarra and Estellost with their excellent synching of the second elf dance around one another. Second round was won by Madaelin and Laerlin, coordinated beautifully in steps and in outfits! And for the third round we went freestyle, and the judges were so impressed with the creativity in this round that we awarded a tie - Chantillyrose and Zaxin, perfectly in step, and Adey and Stili, with amazing synching of a dwarven jig! Congratulations to the winning bands at Weatherstock IV! The Light in the Dark prize went to the all-elven band of Laurelin and Landroval, ANDUNIE! The audience voted for MORNIE ALANTIE of Belegaer to win the People's Choice award! And the Lonely Mountain Band, after much deliberation (and two tie-breaking re-votes!) selected the SONGBURROW STROLLERS of Crickhollow for the Lonely Mountain Cup! Thank you to all who attended (at one point we counted over 480 there at Amon Sul) and made this year's show a great success. We'll see you again next year! And if you missed it, checkout the @Weatherstock feed on Twitter for links to many a blog post, picture album, and moving picture documenting the event. This Thursday, the Middle-earth Network presents the next adventure in the LOTRO Quest series! Join the intrepid adventurers as they set out from the Rabbit Room at the Bird and Baby in Michel Delving and make their way to the ruined city of Tinnudir! Along the way there will be talk about the history of the Northern Kingdom of Arnor and even a visit to the Professor himself, known in-game as Ronald Dwale. The journey begins at 8pm /servertime, Thursday, June 21. Contact Bandoras for further information or see http://news.mymiddleearth.com/2012/06/14/announcing-lotro-quest-episode-2-tolkien-and-tinnudir/ Do you long for adventure (and ale)? Do you wish you could hear music and stories in exotic new lands? We invite you to join us at a new form of Ales and Tales: Ales and Tales Extreme! (ATE for short) This will never take the place of our regular, low-level friendly gatherings on Mondays, so don't worry about the regular show ever going away. ATE will provide the familiar variety show format, with songs and tales performed by the attendees, but in more exotic locations. We might visit Moria, Lothlorien, Enedwaith, the Great River...anyplace that great locations can be found but can't easily be reached! The first ATE will be held Friday, June 22, at 9pm, in Moria's Second Hall (on the stairs overlooking Nud-Melek). All who can reach that location are invited to attend! Bring a tale or song if you can, or contact me if you want to help out with the stage crew or play in Old Winyards for the first ever ATE. Look for ATE to take place once a month on Friday nights (and occasionally a bonus ATE on a Saturday too). Oak n' Barrel Productions, in Association with the Bounders of the Shire (Addernotch Station), are presenting the Merry Mootsters' new theatrical, "The Tale of Marco and Blanco and the Founding of the Shire." This will be an original play in six scenes, with drama and comedy and a little bit of pageantry, suitable for all ages. Come enjoy the show at the Party Tree in Hobbiton on Saturday, June 23, at 8:30 PM /servertime! Check out the concerts happening every week! The Green Hill Music Society plays Tuesdays at the Bird & Baby at 10:00; the Eriador Music Society, Thursdays at 10:30; the BBB, Sundays at 3:00, and the Andune Ensemble, Mondays at 3:00; all times are p.m. /servertime.
